Walked

I saw the two men

as we were walking

down the alley, cutting out

the main street as

we did so,

they didn’t look at us,

but you were looking

at them

and I told you to

stop it;

wondering eyes can only

go so far before they

tire out.

You continued to stare

as if you’d met them before,

before, somewhere, somewhere

in another dimension,

a dimension that belonged

to neither you nor I.
