Five. Eight

I still remember you

as a sixteen year old girl,

acne dotting your face

like a perfect first draft

of a painting;

I still remember

how your laugh

sounded like the church bells

on a Sunday

and I can remember

your face at twenty;

bold, unafraid,

throwing it all to

the wind in July.
