Shared Headache

If we spoke in

a lanaguge

only we understood-

we;

you,

you and me.

If we spoke

in tongues,

in grunts,

in waves,

the whole world would

never quite know

what it was we were saying;

how beautiful,

how touching,

to exit the common

misfortune of speech

and live blissfully,

without care,

without the stabbing

memory of that

shared headache.
