24th

I was there,

sitting

on the sofa

opposite you,

when your body

sagged, frozen

in time, you took

to staring at the wall

for an answer;

finding nothing there,

you took to staring

at my face, my eyes,

nothing.

You placed the phone

on the table

once the call had ended,

you locked eyes

with it, with the screen,

and found-

nothing, nothing there,

nothing to replace;

just us, a meter apart,

listening to the tears

hit the coffee table

in silence.
