One To Take The Edge Off

Two worlds

drift into

one; one

at the

edge of

discovering something,

something that

both worlds

cannot figure out

and this world,

it resists

the pleasure it

knows it will

get from the

other, continuing to

live red faced- cheeks ablaze.

Two worlds,

hands sticky

with excitement,

holding onto

one another

for dear life,

for the life

inside that

wails out in

protest-

ignore it.

Sticky palms,

palms stuck

together for fear

of losing

the other;

one to two,

two worlds

drift into-

one second later,

the world did not end;

just strangers,

floating above the

breath of life.
